How to Order

Three easy steps to create your one-of-a-kind custom announcement:

Step 1: Choose your Card Design
Use our cardbuilder tool to select the colors and options available for your design. We'll use your photo and wording to create a custom announcement just for you.

Step 2: View and Approve a Proof
We will create an eproof for online viewing or mail an actual announcement for you to view and approve before printing.

Step 3: Production
Once your proof is approved, your announcement will proceed to production. The whole process only takes 4-5 business days! (Please add shipping time to this. Please allow more time during the holidays.)

Ordering Details


Envelope Pre-order: For a deposit of $0.20 per envelope plus shipping, we will ship your envelopes prior to the placement of your announcement order. The deposit will then be credited to your account once the complete order is submitted. Allow 1 week for processing.

Order Quantity: The minimum order is 25 cards. Beyond this, customers may order any quantity they desire. The price per card is based on total quantity ordered.

Order Submission: Please choose one of the following options for placing your order:

  • U.S. Mail or Overnight Fed Ex/UPS
  • Phone orders may be placed Monday thru Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST, to 919-324-3550
  • Local walk-ins are welcome during regular business hours.
Payment: We accept major credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover), U.S. checks and money orders. ($15.oo fee on returned checks)

Order Confirmation: A confirmation email will be sent with your invoice attached once we receive your order, photo and payment. Your invoice will show your name and address, the product(s) ordered, total payment, the order start date, and the best case ship date. Please review carefully and email any changes or corrections that should be made.

Turnaround Time: Once we receive your order, payment and acceptable photo the order process begins. This takes 4-5 business days. Your proof will be sent the day before your best case ship date. When the proof is approved, your order will typically be printed and shipped within 24 hours. An additional day may be needed for orders requiring assembly. Processing times after Thanksgiving are typically several days longer. Please add shipping times to the above which can vary depending on customer location.

Proofs: All orders require a proof prior to printing and shipping. Please choose one of the following options:
  • Free Email Proof
  • $3.00 US Mail Proof
  • $6.00 Priority Mail Proof
  • $18.00 Overnight Proof
  • * Your proof will be sent the day before your Best Case Ship Date.
Order Changes: Changes can be made to your existing photo and text until the time of proof approval. If you would like to use a different photo, there will be a $20 new photo work-up fee. (You may view up to three font choices without additional charges. Font changes after the third choice are $5 each.) After the proof approval and printing, re-printing charges will apply.

Order Cancellations: Prior to proof approval, there is a $20.00 service fee assessed on cancelled orders. After an order has been printed, all sales are considered final.

Shipping Options: All packages are shipped UPS Ground from North Carolina. Delivery takes 3-5 business days depending on the destination. You may choose to upgrade your shipping to 3-Day, 2-Day, or Next Day for an additional cost. See shipping pricing chart. Please note that shipment time is in addition to in-house processing.

Misprints: Errors made by Celebration Cottage will be corrected immediately. If necessary, re-prints will be shipped within 24 hours of notification by the customer.

Customer Satisfaction: Celebration Cottage wants all of our customers to be delighted with the cards they receive. The proof is the best tool we have to minimize the likelihood of expectations different from the final product. Should a customer want a re-print, Celebration Cottage will do so at minimal cost for vellum announcements. Non-vellum cards will be re-printed at 25% off the regular price. Bottom line, we will work with you any way we can to ensure your satisfaction.

Ribbon Tying: Your order will contain one tied announcement and instructions for tying. Alternatively, a ribbon tying service is available on all products that include a ribbon for $0.70 per card.

Folding & Inserting: We offer folding and inserting for $0.15 per card.

Color Printing: Color printing is available on specified products throughout the catalog for an additional $0.35 per card.

Return Address Imprinting: We offer return address imprinting on all products using envelopes for $0.70 each. (Vellum envelopes cannot be imprinted.) All return address imprinting is done in black ink. Please specify clearly on your order the name and address you wish to be used for imprinting. (Example: The Smith Family or Mr. and Mrs. John Smith)

Extra Photo Work-up: All photo announcements include the work-up of one photo. Each additional photo is $25.00. (Note: Three photos are included in the price for the Sweet Beginnings product.)

Use of Non-matching Photo: This refers to the use of any photo not previously processed for another product.

Reorders: There is a $5 re-order set up fee for all products. As a customer courtesy, your re-order will be discounted the same as your first order, provided no design changes are made.

Ordering Information for all orders after Thanksgiving


All complete orders (photo + order + payment) received on or before December 18 will be shipped before Christmas. Celebration Cottage cannot guarantee delivery before Christmas. All orders (birth announcement, holiday, special occasion, etc.) received after December 18 will be shipped in January. Celebration Cottage is closed from Christmas through New Years.

Turnaround-time may be as many as 5-7 business days in-house for orders received after Thanksgiving. Actual delivery time varies based on location and shipping method. UPS shipping service guarantees are suspended starting around Dec. 10 for all but Next Day Air packages. Choose Email Proof and either Overnight or 2nd Day Air shipping to increase the likelihood of receiving your order in time for Christmas.
